One

This is my favorite VBS song this year.

"One"

(verse)
Being of one mind
Having the same love
Being of one accord
Having the same heart

Believing in one God
Following one truth
Believing in Jesus
Doing what He says to do

(chorus)
We pray for each other
Serve one another
Walk in unity
And care for each other's needs
Break bread together
Brothers and sisters
Hand in hand in the body of Christ
We become one

(bridge)
And we will do nothing for our own glory
But in humility we will treat
Others as more important than ourselves

(chorus)
As we pray for each other
Serve one another
Walk in unity
And care for each other's needs
Break bread together
Brothers and sisters
Hand in hand in the body of Christ
We become one

Hand in hand in the body of Christ
We become one.

Alright Already!!!

Okay, a certain great-aunt (who shall remain nameless...ahemauntmillieahem) of mine has fussed me for not updating this blog more often so I promise to try and do better. Please realize though that I don't really have all that many exciting things to write about, so I like to save it up and do one big blog. Anyway here goes.

For Father's Day Leslie and I went and saw our Daddy. He's been working out by Morgan City so he and Debbie (his wife for those of you who don't know) were at his mother-in-law's house in Pierre Part, LA. By the way if you've never been to Pierre Part, you're not missing much although I do love Miss Edie's (Debbie's Mama) house. Anyway Les and I left after church (I drug her with me haha) and got to Dad's about 1:30. Miss Edie BBQed and we ate. Then we played a rousing game of roofball. Roofball is a game Daddy made up to entertain Debbie's 2 year old niece Bella. It's a lot like playing volleyball by yourself. It was quite a good time. We had a great time with Dad and he loved his present from us...of course, I picked it out. Here are a couple of pics of dad playing roofball and Bella and her Dad supervising.

Vacation Bible School was last week, and thankfully it has ended. I love, love, love VBS but when you teach music (meaning singing loudly and jumping around doing motions) all morning, work all afternoon, and then work a couple of nights at Bauer...its a bit much. Which is why I usually take whole days off of work for VBS, however I wanted to take off a couple of days this week because we're leaving thursday for Toledo Bend, so I only took half days. This year's VBS theme was Gameday Central, and all the music was themed around sports which was really fun. My favorite was the slow song and I'm going to post the lyrics in a separate blog because I think they're beautiful and they really speak about how God wants us to treat other people. Unfortunately I forgot my camera every day of VBS (it stems from the perpetually late problem I have), but one of our other teachers had one so I will harrass her to email me them. But to up the cuteness factor of this blog here are a few pictures of Logan and Jack, my favorite photo subjects.

Here's Jack chowing on some corn.

I hope everyone has a great week!!!

Summer has arrived!!!

And boy it is warm outside. Sunday afternoon I went swimming at my Aunt Elois' house and Im almost positive that the pool water was just as hot as the air outside. Thank goodness for cold water from a waterhose. I sprayed Zack (my 9 year old cousin) with it and then Nate (my 3 year old cousin) learned he could spray us with it. Fun times!!!
I had my interview for nursing school a couple of weeks ago and it went really well. Miss Heidi told me that with my scores that it would be stupid for them not to take me. Causey also got the same response which is to be expected since we got the same scores. So, she couldn't tell us officially until she tested everyone and interviewed everyone, but she did give us each a list of things to do (CPR class, fingerprinting, taking ID photos) in the meantime and we should know for sure in July.
Our Mission Friends field trip to the Fire Station went really well. The firemen were really great to us and showed us everything there was to see at the station. They even showed us the dorms and they let the kids run around their living room. It was great, unfortunately I forgot my camera, but one of the mom's had hers and as soon as I remember I'll get some copies of the pictures.
I think that is about all I have right now, but there's some exciting stuff coming up this week. More on that later!!
